GTCD Leadership
The Grand Traverse Conservation District is seeking a diverse mix of creative and strategic members to expand its Leadership Team. Prospective members should have skills/experience in one or more of the following areas:
- organizational development
- public relations/marketing
- volunteer management
- financial management
- non-profit boards
- trusts/estate planning
It is our hope that prospective members are passionate about our mission: to inspire exploration, appreciation, and conservation of our natural world and are willing to act as advocates for the work of the District within the community.
The Leadership Team includes (by law) five voting members: Joe Elliott, Ed Breitmeyer, Dean Templeton, Jennifer Jay. Non voting members are Bruce Hooper and Donna Sowers.

GTCD Staff
The Conservation District has nine full time staff members and one Huron Pines Americorps member serving part time through the end of the year. We also employ 2-3 seasonal interns annually. Our expertise ranges from ecology and aquatic insects to education, resource development, and more! We are your source for natural resource support.
